Minecon
MineCon (inicialmente llamado como MinecraftCon) es una convención anual de Minecraft hecha por Mojang AB. La primera fue en 2010 en el estado de Washington. En el 2011 fue en el día 18 de Noviembre, en Las Vegas y fue celebrado el lanzamiento de Minecraft 1.0. La MineCon 2012 fue en Disneyland París, en el día 24 de Noviembre. La MineCon 2013 se hizo en Orlando, Florida en los días 2 y 3 de Noviembre.
2010
La MinecraftCon 2010 fue una reunión espontánea de los fans en el 31 de Agosto de 2010 en Bellevue, Washington. Fue concedida por Notch después de expresar en un post las ganas que tenían los jugadores de conocerlo.
La MineCon 2010 fue una reunión de los fans en un servidor de Minecraft. Había un torneo spleff, una competición de construcción y una carrera de obstáculos. (También hubo inicialmente una competición de griefing, pero fue cancelada). Se hizo una firma de 167 personas, incluyendo a Notch. Aparte, Notch aprovechó para anunciar que Herobrine podía aparecer dentro del juego (la primera vez que se le nombra) en una actualización secreta. Pero al final no pasó nada.
2011
La MineCon 2011 fue en Mandalay Bay, en Las Vegas, Nevada en el día 18 de Noviembre, coincidiendo con el lanzamiento oficial del juego. Este evento fue destacado por los emocionantes eventos, incluyendo el lanzamiento de Minecraft.
Fueron al evento alrededor de 4.500 personas, incluyendo recién nacidos hasta gente de más de 100 años viniendo de 24 estados diferentes. Se hizo una fiesta ambientada en el Nether protagonizada por el dj Deadmau5, solo las personas mayores de 21 años pudieron entrar.
2012
MineCon 2012 was held in Disneyland, Paris from November 24 - 25th. The convention was attended by 4,500 people - approximately the same amount as the previous year.[1] The Redstone Update was announced by the core Minecraft development team in a keynote held there. The entirety of the convention was officially live streamed by GameSpot, who later uploaded some of the content to their YouTube channel.[2][3]
2013
Mojang revealed on June 27 that MineCon 2013 will be held in Orlando, Florida from November 2–3.[4] It was also said that tickets/hotel deals would later be available for sale later in July.
After a lot of mystery, it was officially confirmed by Mojang that MineCon 2013 would be hosted in the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC).[5] At one point, it was listed on the OCCC's calendar of scheduled events. Due to popularity directed toward OCCC's website, MineCon was taken off the list for upcoming events. Some time after all the tickets where sold, Minecon was added to the OCCC Exhibitor On-line Services calendar[6] and the Show Banner Orders calendar.[7] Also a page for exhibiters to get electrical, lighting and other booth utilities was created.[8] There is a page on the OCCC website labeled "Untitled Document"[9] that appears to be the info page of Minecon 2013 on the OCCC website, trying to go to the page will redirect you to the 404ed page.[10]
